For example: If you put 1 litre of biodiesel, 1 litre of diesel, and 1 litre of regular gasoline, which one would last the longest? How long will it travel? Please give accurate numbers if possible. I will really appreciate it.
How do I prove that my biodiesel is different from the vegetable oil from which the diesel was derived? I am making biodiesel for a science project on a very very minimalistic budget (25 dollars). Is there a cheap yet effective way to tell the difference between biodiesel and vegtable oil? I do not have anything that runs diesel in my home. Please exclude things that can be derived locally, unless you know for a fact that this is something that can be found anywhere (i.e. in a supermarket).
I need to decrease the viscosity of B-99.9 biodiesel with common alcohols/surfactants. I’ve tried isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and it works well. Everything else, however has too high of a water content to mix with the fuel.
I checked on mapquest for stations that produce alternative fuels and I only found one station in south florida that carries biodiesel fuel. That particular station is far from where I live, so how can we get one in our area? Also, do cars need any modifications for this alternative fuel?

To me, it seems that biodiesel is a great solution to petrol. It’s clean, cheaper than petroldiesel, and completely renewable. And to make things even better, if we used algae grown in marginal lands (desert), 0.3% of the surface of America could supply our energy needs.
So, it seems too good to be true. What are the inconveniences to a pure biodiesel or a biodiesel-electric hybrid solution?
I’m planning to buy a Mercedes-Benz 300D and I want to use biodiesel to run it. How do I do that?
What are the chemicals used to make biodiesel? What are the ingredients used as well as the procedures?
Currently production capacity is 580MM gallons; an additional 1,400MM gallons are expected to be produced within the next 18 months, bringing the total supply around 2 billion gallons annually. Demand is very heavy due to government tax incentives and regulations, however at some point the market price of biodiesel has to decrease as consolidation in the supply market (like Exxon) will drive prices lower. Currently price of biodiesel is around .75/gallon. What is the impact of supply oversaturation in the biodiesel price?
