My dad is dead set on producing biodiesel in tropical countries for their own domestic use…. He has no care about the environment, just profit. I"m trying to tell him this is a bad idea, but he wont’ listen. He went to some convention and a college prof told him it was a great idea.
I did some quick best case scenerio calculations, if he gets people to jump on as investors…. and about 1.5 million lbs of oil a year….with about a 3 year wait until the first batch can be made.
Don’t know the cost of running the refinery though.
or how much profit this entails.
Told you ahve to put additives into the fuel to not damage the engine.
Also plans to do it for less than mill…atleast thats what he thinks it should cost

Is Biodiesel sufficient for old cars and older machinery that run on diesel? I know that I should not just switch to B100, but is B20 fine? Or, should I go lower, to B10, or even B5?

My biodiesel would be ASTM-certified, made from waste cooking oil only, and would comply with BQ-9000 standards. How much could I expect to WHOLESALE it for, to brokers or retailers, per gallon please? Thanks!!
