what happens if biodiesel spills? will it contaminate or disturb the enviroment in anyway?

this biodiesel fuel is made out of different kinds of oils

This is part of my homework and i cant find it anywhere. Please help. Sources would be useful

When they are supposedly in support of any measures that lead to reduced CO2 emissions?
(The reason why I ask is because in Germany it is untaxed and they are trying to get as many people as possible to use it, wheras here you are actually penalized by using straight veg oil, you pay more than the tax on biodiesel…)

I CAN’T use a car or generator, is there another way?
Safely and so that I can record how long it was burning

Corn, sugar cane, have been used in producing ethanol which can be used in mixes— surely other sources and processes are being studied.
