I made my own biodiesel from cooking oil and i need to show to friends that it is real biodiesel. Is there anyway I could test this besides just saying "this is the real thing guys", and besides putting it into a diesel based engine (im only 16 and dont have a car)

When methane is 64 times the greenhouse gas of CO2, and biodiesel combustion makes no less CO2 than regular diesel?
Isn’t this all just booolsheeet?
Is biodiesel going to cool the earth, and by how much over what time frame?

Following a recent article in the LA Weekly, which made alternative fuel and electric cars look very cool, I started some web research of my own. Wow, there is a lot out there that makes it look like we could drive a lot greener then we do, pollute less, and stop sucking on the tit of the big oil companies who just showed record profits at our expense, sounds cool to me. The thing that intrigued me the most was a co-op in LA that sells Biodiesel that can power any non-modified modern diesel car. So I’m in hyper drive with intrigue, and I’m interested in knowing what others know about Biodiesel or the Co-op here in LA LA Land. If anyone is using the stuff can you explain more about it?
Note: most of the answers I have received so far don’t go beyond the minimal web research I’ve done following reading the Article mentioned above, but thanks anyway. I just discovered that it is commercially available NOW here in LA, too cool. Soooo…what I’m looking for are answers form people that are actually driving biodiesel powered cars, and their experience with it, so that I can decide if it is the right choice for me or not.

I’m thinking about making my own biodiesel to power a diesel car I might buy in the near future, but I need to know what I need to make it, and how much it will cost. If anyone can please speak up! Oh btw it probably be an old 1980′s Mercedes-Benz 300D or equivilant.

Okay, the 2005 Jetta TDI is a Pumpe Duse rather than the post 2003 models. If it cannot run on biodiesel what needs to be changes like fuel lines and alike. Thank you in advance.

its a regular run-on-diesel truck, and i want to know if i have to make any modifications to it, so that it will run on biodiesel. Or are there not any modifications that you have to make. Also, if there are any modifications needed, where can i find these parts.

Where do I put in the biodiesel I made? It’s homemade but the results were same as the ones shown in the instructions I followed. Can someone show me a guide? And I need to drain the tank first before I put it in right? Help!
